Rio Holiday Rental Home Rates

We have tried to maintain a fairly simple rate structure, while not penalizing smaller parties or guests that have their own transportation options.  This still looks a bit complicated, but is really quite simple.

1. First decide when you want to go.  Like most vacation destinations, there are seasons in Brazil and some cost more than others.
2. You can check availability with our online calendar or send us an email.
3. Select the number of persons that will occupy the house.  We can accommodate from 1 to 14 persons, depending on the house.  There is a surcharge of US$ 30 per night for each person over the initial two persons to cover the additional costs of food, energy, and service.
4. At present, all houses are rented for the same rates.

Notes:

• *All rates above are for 1 or two persons and are in US Dollars.  Please add US $30 per person per night for additional persons.
• Rates are subject to change without notice until confirmed by Rental Agreement.
• Minimum stay is 3 nights, except holidays which require more.
• Arrivals and departures can be arranged for any day, but there is a US $50 surcharge if the day falls on a Sunday or Holiday.
• Rates include daily breakfast and full time maid (see our Services Guide for more information)
• Airport pickup is included for stays of 7 nights or more (single arrival time).  Other transfers can be arranged.
• There is a 10% discount off the daily rate for all stays of 10 days or more
• We are happy to say that the above rates include all taxes and fees.  Compare this to the myriad of little fees for taxes, occupancy, service, energy, and even towels that are added on by most hotels.

Payment Terms and Conditions

• A Rental Agreement is required and is available by email.
• We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover Card and other forms of payment via PayPal.  Using PayPal, you can process your payments using a secure online system where we never see the credit card details and you do not need to have a PayPal account.  Or, you can phone or email us with your credit card information if you feel more comfortable.
• For deposits, we also accept personal checks if received at least 30 days prior to arrival.
• All monies are deposited into a US Bank account, and are governed by Washington State Law.  There is no need to deal with international wire transfers, Brazilian laws, or currency conversion.
• A valid credit card is required for check-in to cover possible damages and  when you arrive for miscellaneous charges that might include food, transportation, tours, shopping, telephone and consumable items.

Refunds of Deposits

A trip to Rio requires some advance planning and it is unlikely that we can rent the property as a result of a short notice cancellation.   We will make every effort to accommodate changes in your travel plans, but please understand that by preventing others from obtaining reservations, no-shows cost us significant lost opportunity money.  We have developed a deposit and refund policy that we hope you will think is fair.  Basically, as we get closer to your arrival date, we require more deposit on account and will refund less.  You can send your deposit to us in increments if you prefer, based on the following schedule:

**The base charge is for 2 persons in the house for the period reserved.  Other deposits collected for extra persons, food, or transportation are returned.  If your schedule or health is uncertain, Rio Holiday recommends the use of trip insurance.

*IMPORTANT: When payments are not received by the due date, reservations are subject to cancellation and the cancellation penalty applies.  In most cases, this results in the forfeiture of all moneys paid.
