Mirante do Atlântico
This beautiful home is the latest addition to Rio Holiday's fabulous lineup of luxury vacation rental houses in Greater Rio. It is just a short walk up the hill from our original house, the Mirante de Itacoatiara. This makes it only a short 4 minute walk to Itacoatiara beach. When completed just 5 years ago, this house was featured in a major Brazilian architectural magazine. The house is surrounded by nature on three sides, and a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean and Itacoatiara on the 4th side, making this our most private offering. The property is located in a separate gated community that has just 9 luxury homes.
Constructed on top of the solid granite, the house has three main floors
and three mezzanines. Entering from the street, you will pass by the
first guest room that is actually under the swimming pool. Adjacent to
this room is a very large steam sauna with a full bath. The next level
is the churrasqueira and TV salon. This outdoor barbeque is under a
grass covered gazebo and has a view terrace and a semicircular marble wet
bar for serving that refreshing Brazilian favorite, the caipirinha.
Inside is a comfortable TV salon and large entertainment and pool bathrooms.
Outside, on the next mezzanine, is the private swimming pool. This
pool is so in touch with nature that there is a huge granite boulder that is
actually built into one side. The next level is the main living and
dining rooms, featuring beautiful views of the beach and ocean. This
room is constructed of natural woods with a high ceiling and imported
Moroccan light fixtures. If Tarzan ever built a house in Brazil, it
would look like this. Adjacent to the dining room is a thoroughly
modern kitchen. The rest of the bedrooms are on the floor above.
The master suite has a large walk-in closet, and both a shower and a large
Jacuzzi tub. Both of these bathing areas feature windows that make it
seem that you are outside when taking a bath. The master also has a
small tea veranda that overlooks the pool and a large walk-in closet.
There are two more bedrooms on this floor that share a bathroom. One
is on the front with a view, while the other is on the back and has a door
that opens onto a small veranda with very peaceful view of the large granite
formation on which the house is built. Of course, all of the bedrooms
are air conditioned. Three of the bedrooms have one US queen sized
bed, while one bedroom has twin beds that convert to a king.
Everything that is said about Itacoatiara under the Mirante de Itacoatiara and the section on locale applies here as these houses are literally neighbors, so if you are reading these pages out of order, be sure to go back. This house is sure to be a favorite of honeymooners and nature lovers. It is also possible for very large parties to rent both the upper and lower houses together for accommodations for up to 18 people.
